  7. Hi. First of all, I want to commend you on your wonderful site. I can see the care and love you provide your minis by all your attention to detail. The information is very extensive, so leaves little to question. Now, the only thing I don't see is something about health issues and longevity of your dogs. I don't know if you track this (what kind of diseases parents had, how long they lived...that kind of info), but it's something important to me. We didn't know the family history of our little mini, who sadly passed away prematurely in May, and it was heartbreaking to see her have non-age related health issues, that the vet said she was probably genetically predisposed to. We live in Ottawa, and plan on going through you when we purchase our next mini (probably in about two years). So, if you can address the health/longevity issue, that would be great. Thank you very much.

  1. How do I purchase one of your schnauzer puppies?
The first thing you need to do is complete the puppy questionnaire (available on our website) and return it to us. We screen all our new homes to do our best to give our pups the best home possible. Once we have approved you for one of our puppies, we will work with you to determine which is the best litter, gender, size etc for you and get your name on a waitlist. Once puppies arrive, a deposit of $350 is due to reserve your puppy.

  4. How old are puppies before they can go home?
Our puppies are ready for homes at 8 weeks of age. By then, they have received the best initial care we can give them, have been taught social skills by mom and other adult schnauzers with us and are fully weaned and able to feed themselves. We do not let puppies go home before they are 8 weeks old.

  5. Do you ship puppies?
Yes. Any of our puppies can be shipped once they reach 8 weeks of age. Shipping is at your cost. For shipping within canada, you pay for actual shipping costs plus $25 for my travel expenses. Crate is included with the purchase of your puppy. International shipping requires a vet certificate (at your cost) in addition to the cost of shipping. Shipping arrangements will be coordinated with you once puppies are 7 weeks old. We try to ship puppies on the most direct flight available to minimize the time the puppy is traveling.

Dogs that have been imported from the USA to join our breeding program are usually dual registered: AKC and APR. Puppies are APR registered. I do have one line that traces back to our original male - puppies produced from that line do not have any registration but I do provide pedigrees so people can see where they came from.

All the dogs we use in our breeding program are healthy animals who have not displayed any health issues to date. Schnauzers typically live 12-15 years. My mini schnauzer line has been with us the longest. From that line I have adults producing puppies who are fourth generation out of our original breeding pair. Some of my toy and Small mini schnauzer parents are newer but have been purchased from reputable breeders in the US...some of whom have been breeding healthy schnauzers for over 30 years. We take the health of our dogs very seriously and offer a two year health guarantee to all our new puppy owners.
