Re: What are your own favorite songs?

Hi
Wow..thats a tough one. They are all like little children to me and each holds a special place in my heart & memory. But heres a few that mean a little more.
1) FOREVER YOU by the Whites. They really did a fantastic version of th song, which was exclusively written with them in mind. I was thrilled to hear their final version, featuring dobro icon Jerry Douglas.

2) SHE BELONGS TO EVERYONE BUT ME recorded by the Burrito Brothers. This was the Burrito's first major chart hit. I thught we did a great record on it.

3) ISN'T IT AMAZING by Mark Farner. It was the number 2 Christian hit of 1988. I wrote it for Joe Cocker ( who passed ). I have recieved some amazing letters from people who told me how the song impacted their lives. Truly overwelming. It was written at a very sad time in my life when the Burritos manager and best friend Martyn died suddenly. We were without a manager and very much out there alone, while at the same time my daughter Jennifer was about to be born. It was written about how theres always a light at the end of the darkness.
Mark did a fine job on Isn't It Amazing.

4) WILLOW COUNTY REQUEST LINE - Johnny Tillotson
A relatively unheard song of mine, but a CBS single for Johnny in the 70's that did get alot of country airplay. Its a pretty ballad about a guy who calls a radio station request line and asks the DJ to play the song that he and his lost love once called their own, hoping she will be somewhere out there listening to the same station, hear the song and come back to him.
It was recorded inNashville in 1972 and I played on the record with all the top "A" team players of the day. It was a thrill for me. Billy Sherrill produced it and it was a great record.

There area few more, but those are the ones I am very fond of.
Hope this answers your quesion!
Cheers
JB
