Rockin away in Norway
Having a great tour here in beautiful Norway. Just returned from 4 days at the American Festival in Vanse, where I had the honor to have shared a mic with Norway's top session guitarist Hans Graasvold. What a ball we had picking and grinnin for the thousands who showed up at the festival. I also had the honor to hook up again with Hans behind the great Johnny Silver. Boy, it was like the old folk days at the Troubadour! Johnny is a real sweetheart of a talent. Finally I had the real honor to play with Chicago soul singer Daryl McDade who just knocked me out with his amazing soulful voice. Wow....what a thrill to have played behind him, along with Norway's ace drummers, Bruce Rasmussen, who plays behind me on my festival and club appearances. As always, my son Ty handled the bass chores like a pro. The crowds certainly made him feel welcome on his first trip to this beautiful country. The weather is wonderful..sunny and warm and everyone looks lovely and healthy and happy. This place is heaven on earth. Finally, a tip of the hat and a hug to my lovely manager, Berit Govertsen who celebrated her birthday yesterday. We had a great dinner at our favorite place, The Sea House in Kristiansand. Happy bday B!!!! So it's onward with many more shows to come. If you're in the neighborhood, stop by and say "hey" !!!!! JB www. johnbeland. com |

I suppose after exotic locales like Norway,you'd never consider anyplace like Yakima,WA.  Nobody else does either.Hey we got a dome!!The Sundome!(puny)Well,I for one would be thrilled if you ever came out this way,the Palms Springs Of Washington.(Actual slogan.....lie,tho.)Peace.
