Summer ends....but onward to Fall !!
Hello All I'm sitting here in Bastrop, Texas at a cool little coffee house,on a hot afternoon, sippin on an ice tea and knocking out a quick update for the web site. First off, I'm moving into my new house in Brenham Texas tomorrow, and I can't wait. It's a neat little old wood Texas house not far from the town square, where I play at Ernie's American Bistro when Im not on tour or out on a recording project. Brenham is a great town, right out of the old west. In fact, it's a very historic area known for being the "Birth place of Texas." Lot's on the plate for this Fall. First off, I'll be flying to Kristiansand Norway at the end of September, to produce the duo PG & FRANK. These guys are simply wonderful singer / songwriters who have their own unique sound that simply captures your heart with every song they knock out. I'll be tracking with the guys for two weeks and then it's back home to work on the rest of their album here in Texas at my studio. Then at the end of November, it's back to Norway for a series of holiday shows, starting at 8th Avenue, in Vanse. After Christmas it's back to the States for more projects before heading back, once again, to Norway for a festival with my old Burrito bandmate Larry Patton, and the great Freddy Weller. This is going to be one hell of a show!!!!!! In between all this I'll be playing at Ernie's in Brenham, and working on my next single, "EDDIES GOT A GUN." A full plate of stuff for the next few months. I forgot two things....oooops! First of all many t hanks to those who inquired about my health following an accident in the recording studio. The chair I was sitting on during a guitar overdub I was in the middle of, broke and crashed me to the floor where I hit my head on the wall and gashed my right arm pretty bad. The producer, Greg Cox picked me up and rushed me to the bathroom and fixed me up. UGH...Im not good at "blood" and this was alot! Anyway, I was luck enough to not have had a head injury and walked away in one piece. What a scene!!!! Secondly, I've been asked to return to my old high school OAK LAWN COMMUNITY HIGH SCHOOL on the southwest side of Chicago, to speak to the kids about my career and share some advice and memories. I'm honored to be asked to speak.However, I'm sure that somewhere, in a few cemetarys, a few of my old teachers are spinning in their graves knowing I'm returning to "the scene of the crime." This will all happen in October on my way home from Norway. It should be lots of fun. Thats all for now...TC !! JB |
