Financial Impact of Sports in the Kansas City Area
The Missouri dear season opens tomorrow. the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service recreation study estimates that deer hunters spend almost $230 million annually in Missouri! How does this compare to other sports? Mid-America Regional Council in KC est the Royals and Chiefs combined pump $256 million annually into the area. Three racing weekends at the Kansas Speedway bring an est. $150 million into the area. The Big 12 basketball tournament creates $20 million in spending. the Big 12 football championship game brings $25 million into KC.
