imagination
i posted this to a catholic web site. anyone here got any thoughts on it??? dear people. just wondering if there is anyone.......anyone at all here who can or has ever even tried to imagine our world and all it’s people at total & lasting peace??? what it would be like and how it could be attained?? does anyone know of any signifigent period of time in the history of the planet without one or another war??? i’ve heard it prayed for in every church i’ve been in but it seems no more then a cliche without any thought or expectation of it actually happening. i’m 65 years old and have yet to hear from anyone, any world leader, any clerical leader, with even a hint of a comprehensive plan to get it done. peace & prosperity for all?? with respect dear people it seems no more then a sick joke to pray for something that no one seems able to even imagine happening. the poverty & starvation of millions, the wars. yeah the wars.......the death, the dismembered ,innocent children & atrocity of the wars. can i suggest that we humans are intelligent beings. we have the capacity for love ,compassion and for the attainment of anything we can imagine??. i guess the key word would be imagination. if no one can even imagine it how can it ever happen?? are wars, poverty, starvation really and truly an enevitable part of the human condition?? or could it be that maybe, just maybe that we could use this incredible intelligence we’ve been blessed with to actually attain this thing, this peace we, all the world over pray for and give lip service to???? someone??? anyone???? |
