Flattering, Modest Clothes with NO FRUMP!!
Ladies, I have heard several gals make this comment, so I wanted to give my answer: "Where do you find modest, non-frumpy skirts and dresses?" Here is my answer: I enjoy feminine, but classic clothing. My desire is to reflect Christ, so I want to be stylish, but more importantly, modest. Many of my dresses for church I find at an upscale thrift store here in town. I like to go on dollar days and get them for a dollar. So great- what a deal! When I have the money, I like to shop online at Chadwicks and Hannah Lise and Touch of Elegance. Chadwicks has a fantastic clearance section on the website and Hannah Lise has an extensive line of solid-color a-line skirts, which are flattering for ALL body types. Elegance has several garments which are classic and lovely. I hope this helps any ladies who are looking for some new things...Christmas IS coming up! LOL I generally buy shirts and sweaters at stores like Target (or I thrift them), but I like to buy skirts new so they will last and last and last. Anyone else have good resources for no-frump clothing that is ready-made? |

http://www.blair.com/ I bought several skirts on clearance last year and they are good quality. I would buy from them again. |

Learning how to sew, and making your own skirts, is a great way to have clothes that you like, are flattering, durable, and (if done carefully) economical. I realize that patterns and fabrics can be expensive, but there are ways of getting them for less (I've NEVER paid more than $2 for a pattern or more than $3/yd. for fabric). I also understand that time can be a premium (I am a keeper-at-home/homeschooling mom!), but it doesn't have to be done in a day. Just carving out 15-30 minutes/day can get a skirt done faster than you may realize. And, as I stated before, you will have clothing that you LIKE, because you are the one who has chosen the design and fabric. Even better, your clothing will be fitted to YOU! Blessings, Brenda |

I love Coldwater Creek... www.coldwatercreek.com... The neat thing is that they have an outlet store and stocks so many wonderful things at 40-80% off what they normally charge... And the skirts are pretty much tea length... I am 5'6" and this is so perfect for me... And most importantly they are very modest... Marie |
