PAN ROYALE 2002

PAN ROYALE 2002

In its continuing effort at raising funds to shore up the legendary

institution's structures and provide new opportunities for its alumni, The

QRC Foundation will next weekend stage Pan Royale.

As you are undoubtedly aware, total proceeds from these events go toward

this specific charity.

Four of this country's top steel orchestras and a parade of top-flight

virtuosos and choirs will headline this year's playbill at Pan Royale, which

takes place at the QRC Grounds, St Clair.

For the first time, the event will embrace all three nights of the weekend,

beginning Friday October 25th with the soloists and ensembles, proceeding to

Saturday night's powerful orchestral performances and closing with a Sunday

evening matinee featuring pan ensembles and the nation's best choirs.

At the Friday night concert you can experience the work of Chantal Esdelle &

Moyenne, The David "Happy" Williams Trio with Rudy "Two-Left" Smith, Len

"Boogsie" Sharpe, The Ralph Mac Donald Sextet and Robert "Robbie" Greenidge.

Saturday showcases the talents of reigning calypso king of kings and

five-time national calypso monarch Black Stalin, along with Tobago's

Redemption Sound Setters, TCL Group Skiffle Bunch, Exodus and reigning

National Panorama Champions, N&M Trinidad All Stars.

The Sunday event brings out the JeunesAgape Chorale; Southernaires Choir,

Signalite Chorale and the world-beating Lydians.

Headlined acts will present guest artistes to add further variety to the

programme, offering opportunities to enjoy a mix of vocals, keyboards and

other instruments interpreting several musical styles through steelpan and

soloists.
