I have been researching my family, and recall stories from my grandmother speaking of Native American, White Feather through her father. Mary Ann Voss Dame married my great-great grandfather, James Davis after the death of her 1st husband. I was so happy to find your site dedicated to her. My grandmother had in her possession a very old book passed down of the Cherokee traditions. I so wish I knew the location of that book now. My sister and I once done a "rain dance" based on that book, and it actually came a hail storm. LOL. It frightened us so much that we didnt again try it. haha
