2004 JSE Rules

JeepSpeed has not finalized the rules for pro and modified stock class (old sportsman class). These along with the SCCA rules will be the guidelines and requirements for racing the RallySprints.

RallyCross will be entry-level stock type XJ's or vehicles being built to JS/SCCA rules.

Notable Rules and Information for next Season:

- JSE drivers/members are encouraged to join the SCCA and apply for their Club Rally License.

- 2004 JSE competitor membership ($100), forms, JSE #, along with JSE and sponsor decals are required to race in one of the JS Classes and be eligible for posted prizes and contingencies.

- SCCA does not require fuelcells for RallySprints.

- Underbody or stock gas tanks for RallySprints will be required to have skidplateing covering the lower half of the tank and be able to support the full weight of the vehicle without distortion. Skidplateing is suggested for RallyCross.

- Bumper requirements have been changed to allow any after-market bumper to be installed. (before buying one contact JSE as we are currently negotiating for bumpers from a couple of suppliers).

- RallyCross Vehicles determined to be unstable (EX: to high with weak shocks or springs) or not built for a reasonable amount of safety may be issued a warning or be required to have deficiency corrected before racing.

- JSE strongly suggests that entry level XJ's install rollcages and safety equipment during the initial build-up.

- Entry level (RallyCross) building restrictions without proper safety equipment is currently being discussed by a couple of rally organizations and scrutinizers on both coast. JSE will give support and feedback to making RallyCross safer while keeping it affordable, competitive, and fun.

Please post or contact JSE with questions or comments while we await the final 2004 rule books.
