Hi all! Love this site and I can't wait to visit the center. I was born and raised in Washington County and now live in Ohio. Our family just had it's first family reunion this past June at Mingo Creek Park, near Finleyville. When I was young my parents owned a farm near Avella, Jefferson Twp. It was the old Gillespe farm. The house is still there on the road up the hill from Avella. It was built about 1860. Most of my mother's family were in Washington County since the early 1800's, coming from eastern PA. Some of the surnames in my family: White; Baker; Essick; Perrin; Horner; Sims; Taylor; Dennis; Fife. I don't know if I'm related to A.D. White or not.
Again, love the site and I hope all the best for the new center! Do have a question for you; Does anyone know of some kind of a family history thing going on near or around September 21st, 2007 near Patterson Mills? Possibly the Patterson descendants involved??
