I am highly effected by Diet, I do take Mexilitine and it is night and day difference if I don't take it or if I miss a dose it seems to take a few days to get ramped back up

Many medications need to be prescribed at the correct dosage. Some physicians seem to prefer to "play it safe" when initially prescribing a drug. Mexiletine works well for me, but when I first began treatment at 150 mg. (three times per day), I found little improvement. However, at 250 mg it works very well.
