As the tongue has some powerful muscles it's not surprising that MC should present there. I've had problems talking and eating due to the muscles in my tongue and jaw stiffening up, okay once the myotonic reaction has passed though.

What you describe Louise sounds more like an allergic reaction rather than anything related to MC. The lack of breath might also be related, it could be a respiratory problem.

You might want to see a dentist. A sore tongue could be a sign of dental issues, or even jaw issues possibly.
