I was injured in a car accident in 2006, two years after being diagnosed. I was waiting to make a left turn onto my street, stopped with my left blinker on, when a young man never saw me and hit me at 50 mph. His car was totaled, and my Lexus should have been declared totaled, as they found additional damage inside the trunk after they began the repair work.
