Hi - I can't say about the Navy, but I can tell you that most of us live close to normal lives, and many of us are (or were) at least as active as regular folks. Because of our condition, many of us crave physicial activity, because it makes us feel better (though we can be prone to over-doing it).

I am an RN, and had a very full and active and successful career. I also was very active in dog training, and my favorite hobby was landscaping and gardening - and I did my own digging and rock wall building and such. (well, OK, for the really heavy stuff, my husband helped...).

You will find that many of us are professionals or other very active career people - and I believe there are even a few folks who went into civilian duty for armed forces. There's no reason not to plan a full and normal life. Lois
