I obtained Long Term Care Insurance through Genworth in 2004. I was not diagnosed with Myotonia Congenita until 2005. My agent said that this would not affect my policy, but I'm not sure if that was due to the fact that the diagnosis came AFTER the policy was already in effect. Your best bet is to be specific and up front with the agent who is representing the long-term care company.
