Re: Second YouTube Video

Jim

sounds good to me as this area ie stairs is probably the most conspicuous that we have to deal with (and its a lot safer than 'timbring' backwards).

Re: Second YouTube Video

I like the idea for this new video- it may give people something to think about, coz right now most of them don't have clue what a huge obstacle the stairs are for us..

Can't wait to see it. :)

Re: Second YouTube Video

I suffered an attack of deja vu reading that script.

Stairs have always been my nemesis, even with Mexitil.

Look forward to seeing the finished film.

Re: Second YouTube Video

Stay away, again, from the goat referance. If people are not familiar with MC they are not going to be familiar at all with the goat reference. Why confuse them? MC is confusing enough on it's own. Stick with one form. The human form. If someone brings up the goat reference, address it then.

Re: Second YouTube Video

Jim,

Congratulations on so many views! I like your idea for the second video. I'd like to see one scene of you holding the camera in a group of people climbing stairs (maybe you can get some friends to help out) and show how you get slower and slower while they just keep going on up.

What would be really fun it to have several successive shots looking up all kinds of stairs, escalators, bleachers, etc. - all the things that we dread. You could do tourist attractions, government buildings, beachfront steps, a shopping mall, and many other venues.

I don't mind the goat references at all (as you can see by my picture above). Maybe it's because I raised them and enjoy goats, or maybe it's just because I think people grasp the concept more quickly. I doubt that there's anyone who hasn't seen fainting goat clips by now. Anyway, I think they make pretty good mascots. But it does upset owners when I tell tham that it DOES hurt when you fall and when you tear the muscles. They don't want to hear that :-)

Re: Second YouTube Video

Thanks for all of your replies. I think at least a 1/3 of the views of the first video come from this web-site. Jan I really like your idea about having other people walk up the stairs with me to show how much faster they can go up--although I don't know how I would make it work with the theme of this particular video. It is definitely an idea I will chew on for next time.

I really wanted to keep the focus of this video on children, because after reading so many people's posts on this web-site, it seems that, at least from an emotional standpoint, the worst that we experience with MC happens when we are children. I know this sounds cliche', but if I could stop one more child with MC from experiencing what I experienced, then I would feel like I accomplished something.

That is my whole reason for using the Fainting Goats. There are millions of people who know about Fainting Goats, and by linking human MC with the goats, we take advantage of something that a large segment of the population is already interested in. This educates the public and hopefully will make all of our lives a little easier. I mean there are thousands of diseases out there, how do you get the general public to take interest in a disease unless they have it or know someone who has it?

Re: Second YouTube Video

You're right. Kid's have the worst "ride" with MC. I remember when my just started to kick in at puberty- I didn't know whatz wrong with me, but no one really believed me ( after all MC is pretty rare).
Then also with age it settles, we learn to "control"(we know what to expact is certain situation) it a bit and it's easier to get by...

Re: Second YouTube Video

I have no problem with the goats, however, if you could it might be a good idea to have a few clips of goats falling over to a laughter sound track followed immediately by the image of a person falling over in absolute silence for shock value?

My teenage years were the worst for me, simply because I wanted to be like all the other boys, play sports, get a girl friend, etc. We don't want to be different, we want to be the same as everyone else. Socialising, like going to the cinema, could be a nightmare however, because of the stairs!

Yes, I can see why you want to concentrate on children for this video. There's no reason why you can't make another one though and incorporate some of the other ideas in that?!

Keep up the good work!
