Re: Sneezing = The wost pain.

The intercostal muscles (between the ribs) and the diaphragm can be quite severely affectd by myotonia, so sneezing and coughing can really get us. If your eyelids "stick" closed after a sneeze then you're really in trouble when you're driving!

I always put on sunglasses and take an antihistamine if I'm going out in bright light or allergy season.

Re: Sneezing = The wost pain.

I suffer from hay-fever and dread sneezing!

I take antihystemeines to help with the pollen overload and whilst on mexitil I could handle the sneezing but now that I've finished my last dose I'm dreading the approaching summer.

If I get caught out by a sneeze I can expect my abdominal muscles to lock up painfully, the muscles across my back go tense, and those over my ribcage too. I've had some bad muscle tears as a result of sneezing and I've even known my legs to lock up too!

I hate sneezing!!
