Re: Hernias, keugal patch, anyone else have problems with hernias

I have a hiatal hernia, and while I'm not sure if it's related to the MC, I've had some unpleasant interactions between the two due to my abdominal muscles and diaphragm muscles moving in ways and at times they really shouldn't. I have to be really careful when I stretch my body with my arms above my head so that my stomach doesn't get pulled/squeezed up through my diaphragm and it clamps back down on it...at least I think that's what happens.

I imagine if you have weaknesses in your abdominal wall for some reason, having myotonia in your abdominal muscles might attribute to herniation because (in my experience) it can really squeeze your insides good.

Additionally abdominal distress tends to cause the abdominal muscles to contract.
