In the prescribing information for Mexitil it says that 2% of users will experience weakness as a side effect.

I would talk to your doctor and pharmacist about it and see if you should try another medication. Also You might ask for a serum potassium test when you are feeling weak to see if low potassium is causing it. If that is the case then you may be able to increase your potassium intake.
