Hi Jan,
I finally got the results form the DNA testing for myotonia congenita. As I suspected I do not have any form of myotonia congenita. I still don't have the results of the Isaac's antibody test yet. My doctor does however believe it is either Isaac's or MS. She is leaning towards MS because of the numbness that I am expericing in my fingers, legs and toes. I go for a full pulmonology test the 6th. and then back to her for her findings the 11th. As I have said many times I am no longer worried about what the illness is as long as I can get some answers. You have all been very supportive to me and I greatly appreciate you. I'll post again when I know more.
Thanks,
Teresa
Thanks for the update. At least you've finally ruled out any myotonic disorder. Many things can cause the peripheral neuropathy including MS. But usually you would have had some visual problems by now if it was MS.
I'm taking Acetyl-L-Carnitine and R-Alpha Lipoic Acid for the severe neuropathy I got from West Nile Virus years ago. It has worked wonders. You can get them online from several stores including SwansonVitamins.com.
