Parking Permit

Does anyone here use a handicapped parking permit? My fiance brought up the idea since walking around icy parking lots in the winter is especially difficult for me. But, I'm not sure having myotonia congenitia is sufficient to qualify for one.

Re: Parking Permit

Hi Jeff
I have a parking permit and it is a great help not only in winter. The parking space is wider, easier to get in and out of the car. Now there is a big difference from one country to another. In Denmark, we have quite strict rules on who can get a parking permit. I would think that your doctor can sign the necessary papers, or the neurologist that you have.

Re: Parking Permit

If your doctor is agreeable to it, you can definitely get one. They come in really handy, especially if the parking spots are right next to the store or if it's really snowy/icy out. Good luck!

Re: Parking Permit

At my current age, I'd just deal with falling. :) Older, I'd ask for a permit.

Practicing balance--even against cramping muscles--is the only way keep up my skills.
