I seem to have some inconsistencies in the warm up effect and I was never sure how typical they were.
For example, when I use the double cable cross over machine at the gym to do punches, you would think I should be warmed up after 15-25 reps but I actually experience the myotonia when I let go of the cables. I can let go but after I do, my hands and wrists instantly curl under for a few seconds.
I don't think that machine actually works our hands enough. My hands don't curl like most people with myotonia--they are stiff or shake uncontrollably instead. Anyhow, that machine makes me use my hands just enough to trigger a spasm rather than enough to make it be looser. Eventually, it goes away, but that machine works my arms way more than my hands or arms. It can also cause my neck and back to spasm a bit.
