chemicals

Hey everyone!
Just wondering, what exactly is it that makes us hurt? Do we have like acids or alkali's in us or what? Just wondering because then we might be able to take (If it was acid) Milk of magnisia and stuff like that.
Please let me know, even though this might be stupid becaus ei know that our brains tellour musscles to do these things.
Thanks again,
from Paige K.

Re: chemicals

Paige, the pain is thought to come from the contents of the muscle cells that spill out when the cells rupture. Apparently they can be irritating to surrounding tissue.

Magnesium can help, especially if you have higher lactic acid levels which occurs with strenuous exercise (which we do without thinking every day!. You might want to try a little Milk of Magnesia...not enough to cause a laxative effect, but enough to help with acidity.
