Improving FitnessGram scores

Does anyone have an ideas on improving FitnessGram scores using technology? I recently purchased some curl up counters that have some built in lines (for the proper curl up distance) for the students to use for practice. I would like to see if there is anything out there that uses an iPad or other device that helps with the other tests used in the FitnessGram testing.

Re: Improving FitnessGram scores

Very good question as my district just started using FitnessGram for our pre-test post-test scores.
We use the PACER packet and equipment for that. They provide us with lines, but we still use cones to show the distance to run.
Our sit and reach box is useful, but we made those as a department.
I would talk to other departments in your building, we got alot of idea from talking to other departments about having a grade for their students based on a project that helps us measure our tests.

Re: Improving FitnessGram scores

For the curl up portion I just measure strips and cut them out of poster board. I have the students practice with a partner report their score to me (I walk to each student) and switch positions. I play the cadence CD on the overhead speakers. We practice several times. I tell the students I will change their score if they improve from the last time. This encourages students to do better especially if they had a bad score or day. I also tell the students I will write down the score I see if they are not completing the curl up correctly. It is the educators job to demonstrate the curl up correctly.
