Ipad Uses in the Gym

The more I use my Ipad in the gym, the more I like it! Often times I feel like I am missing out on even more uses for an Ipad in the gym or helpful apps I could be using with my students. It also appears many have Ipads, so I am suggesting we begin a list of uses and apps that we have found that help us teach or coach.

Getting us started, here is what I have found thus far:
*Ubersense - video taping skills, watching in slow motion, ability to "write" on the video screen.
*Video Delay - delays video being shown on screen so a student can perform a skill, then watch the delayed video of the skill
*Seven - a 7-minute workout that gives multiple exercises on the screen with built in rests.
*GoPro - remote control and video monitor for GoPro mounted helmet in our climbing unit
*QR Code Reader (paired with QRStuff.com) - make QR Codes that lead to fitness cards, instructional videos, etc.
*Interval Timer - timing games in PE class

Any additions that people have, could we copy and paste the above into a new message and then add suggestions?

Hope this becomes a helpful post to people!

Re: Ipad Uses in the Gym

Great information you've started. Here is a link with GREAT information as well in regards to using an Ipad directly with Physical Education. Thanks!!

Re: Ipad Uses in the Gym

Hello,
I am considering implementing more technology into my PE classes so I first had a question as to how you are utilizing the IPad in the gym? Second, I am trying to find ways to implement apps on phones and smaller devices. Would your apps work on phones or mp3 mp4 players? I have found one app that I think will be very useful and that is PE Geek, it does cost money but looks like a great resource. Hopefully that will be helpful to you.
