I have my collection displayed in a curio cabinet. I have been advised by the "BOSS" that I am to move them to another room.
In the process I noticed the models are covered in dust. I suggested using my compressor on low pressure to blow off the dust. She thinks I am nuts. She thinks some kind of damp cloth will work. I don't think so. It would take forever.
Anybody got any suggestions?
DEFINITELY NOT A WET CLOTH!!!! I've done a couple of things....
Those little pocket soft-bristle brushes you can use on your computer keyboard--those are great. Or if you want something a little bigger, go to a Automotive store and get a dashboard duster.
I've also used a can of compressed air--BUT be careful as I've blown off a couple of loose mirrors, but that works well to get dust out of the inside of the cab or between the cross-lays of hoses.
However you do it, just be careful and dust someplace where if you knock off a mirror or warning light you can find it easily......you'd be amazed at how far those suckers travel when they bounce on a floor!
I've used a small (1" max) paint brush in the past. It seems to work pretty good. A cloth with some window cleaner works for any spots that may not come off with the brush.
Blush brush - yes. I stole my wife's and it is perfect for removing dust but nothing other than dust. Compressed air - no way. It is hard to control the pressure and I once literaly blew some decals from a model (Corgi not Code 3) using a compressor!
Thanks to all that posted replies to my request as to how to clean my models. I think the blush brush sounds like a plan, and I would have bever thought of it.
You guys are the best!
