SINCE YOU STARTED COLLECTING WHAT WOULD YOU CONSIDER YOUR FAVORITE PIECE OR PIECES TILL NOW LADDER 10 AND THE SUPER PUMPER SYSTEM IS TOPS ,AND THE NEW 1/32ND LADDER 10 WILL JOIN THEM
First it would be the Don Mill's Mack Rescues, first R3 and then the Newark.
Matchbox: Mack MC Rescue in first release yellow. So simple yet so nice
Ashton: Tenafly NJ Seagrave Anniversary
Code 3: a lot of nice models but the Pierce Hoffman Estates rescue and Chino TDA are probably my favorites. This is followed by the Port Chester Sutphen.
I could go on and on becasue my collection are like little metal children to me. I love them all. I really don't buy anything unless I like it. I gave up long ago on the "Curse for Completeness".
from Ashton: the NY World's Fair Engine 2
from Minichamps: the 1956 Magirus ladder truck
from Matchbox: the Merryweather pump
from Corgi: the Dennis F 12 pump escape
from Solido: the Hotchkiss premier secours
from Code 3: the NYFD Seagrave tower
from Siku: the classic Mercedes-Metz ladder truck
My two favorites are my Don Mills Mack L FDNY Res1cue because I think it's the most accurate piece I have, bar none and my 1/16 scale Doepke ALF 700 pumper because it was my very first fire model in 1949, and got me started in this crazy hobby.
Athearn 1/50 Boston Ford C Pumper
Corgi Fairfax County E-One Pumper (Although why did they paint all the headlights red????!)
The Matchbox Mack MC Rescue is a keeper but I love the Matchbox Ft Wayne International Pumper.
The big (12") Hubley Cast Iron Ahrens-Fox pumper. Even though mine has a few defects, it's still a great piece that I got at a good price some 20 years ago, and couldn't afford to purchase these days! They don't make em anymore like Hubley did in the good ole days...
well i third my vote for the hobbytown newark mack r rescue as probably my favorite.i will never sell that.
i absolutely love the matchbox las vegas ambo.and was very fortunate to find 2 of them year's ago at the now defunct bradlees.and since i'm primarily a ho scale nut,i have to say the del prado ho quint probably top's the chart's for a great ho scale piece.i am also very fond of the matchbox kme mini-pumper .
