Steve, that's actually outdated info on the city's web site. Tr-20 was originally quartered with Eng.41 on Conklin St. E-124 was originally AT-124. When the Sutphen aerial became inoperative and was removed, the unit remained in service as E-124. AT-124 was formed during the cut back era by disbanding E-11 and Tr-24. A few years ago when Tr-20 recieved a new rig, it wouldn't fit in the quarters so they were moved to the E-124 firehouse on Eastern Ave. E-124 has since been disbanded and Squad-11 has been activated, so Tr-20 shares quarters with them now. The Conklin St station has been remodeled, but the decision was made to leave Tr-20 quartered with Sq-11. And the city doesnt really use station numbers, those numbers are used only for map location ID's.
thanks for the help i was kind of hopeing truck 20 was housed with engine 16 or engine 31 the other 2 corgi rigs that i have. Why we are on the subject does anyone know of any good Baltimore Buff sites?. I realy enjoy collecting and buffing Baltimore. I would appreciate any help.
John, do you mean Corgi Engine 17, the four door ALF? That was a fictional rig, since Baltimore never had an ALF's of that confiuration. As a side note, Eng.16 was never a land unit, it was one of the fireboat engines. (the others were 39,48&49) Try these sites for some good Baltimore info:
