Larry, Good luck on your heart operation from someone who has been there. Your reference to the burn marks from the paddles brought back the memory of my burns from those paddles. I survived 2 cardiac arrests 7 years ago - had by-pass surgery - have a defibrillator/pacemaker implanted and I'm still going strong at age 73. Walking helped me to get back - I started the second day out of the hospital and the ICD has never gone off.
