With even the models that had a decrease in quality still selling out, I question where the incentive is for them ti return to or exceed previous quality standards? Is it possible that the decreased level of quality was done intentionally to see if the product would still sell, and if it did, they could continue to produce lower quality models, possibly at a cost savings to them which would increase profits? It's going to be interesting to see if we see a return of the high quality Code 3 products or if Code 3 ends up being a mass produced model on a blister card sold and Wal-Mart and K-Marts.
Well if they were going to mass merchandise they'd hire someone from a diecast company that has produced 'dreck' for decades. A company like ERTL. OOps!
