According to this article, the CEO of the company who had stuff recalled, commited suicide.

I know you don't like code 3 but that calls for you to go to the doghouse.

"I know you don't like code 3 but that calls for you to go to the doghouse"

Actualy, I have always liked code 3, and bought all they have done, but like most people, I love picking fault in their business practices. ( or lack of)
I am one of the rare people who dont demand what they should or should not do, I dont give a hoot about how acurate the model is compared to the actual 1/1 rig, and I could not care how many repaints they do per model, as I appreciate the cost of tooling, and the fact they still need to make money.
I have never sent anything back, and I have never cancelled an order because they ****** me over something trivial.

Actualy, rather than scott, I was going to put *******, seeing as to my knowledge, he was the only one to make a serious blunder, on a "one mold model" he produced, (allegedly)

Re: Toy company COE kills himself.

The suicide is for real. It was on our national newscasts last night. The comnpany was a producer for Fisher-Price, and the stuff was recalled because the paint contained unacceptable amounts of lead.

Re: Toy company COE kills himself.

You know what was the most incredible thing about every article I came across relative to the suicide....It was very matter of fact from a Chinese standpoint to where it was literally stated in the articles that quote: "It's not uncommon for suicides in China when someone has brought disgrace or embarassment to their employer or family."

Almost made it sound like he had a moral obligation to do it. Sad when you think about.......

Re: Toy company COE kills himself.

Pete

expect more. A major mattress supplier here takes 11 containers with mattresses back because inside the mattresses they where loaded with cancermaking chemicals, the same as in the toys. The production rules in China are different so a lot of poison is spreading, just for making money

Re: Toy company COE kills himself.

I tend to disagree with that statement. In fact I dare say, I wish it (the results) were carried out more here. If a CEO makes a major mistake, or leads his company to make a major mistake by not managing his employees properly, then yes, he should pay dearly. Nowadays, CEO oompensation in the US is completely out of line with employee pay. If a CEO makes the right decision, and the stock price goes up, he reaps millions, if not hundreds of millions of dollars, and the employees get little. If he makes the wrong decision, and the stock goes down, the employees are the ones who usually get fired with little to no severance, and it was his mistake to begin with. On top of that, if the CEO is fired, he still gets millions usually due to golden parachutes and other "change in control" clauses. Meanwhile, the fire common employees are left trying to figure out how they are going to survive on cobra, unemployment comp...etc etc...and often times are forced to file for bankruptcy, because of what a CEO did. So no - If one or more CEOs lose their lives over what they have done, many people will sleep better at night thinking at least there is some poetic justice in the world.
