They make a very nice piece in both the Ford C Cab version and now this one with the front mounted pump!

I guess we all wish almost anything worth purchasing was cheaper, but I feel that Athearn's product is well worth the price for the quality they offer. I assume you are referring to the 1/50th models (there have, of course, been even more choices in 1/87th). I now have examples of their fire stuff in all three scales (and several in 1/87th), and consider them the best.

I only hope they do more. Can you picture a nice 1/87th scale custom platform quint?

The 1/50 versions are usually less than a 1/64 Code 3, & generally have better detail & scale accuracy.
