Re: Mack C Rescue

Here is a pic CF with Swab body.

CF squads were all over the east coast.

Never have seen a C. I'm sure they exist.

Re: Mack C Rescue

The photo on Westchester's site looks pretty good. This is going to be a nice piece.

Re: Mack C Rescue

That is an excellent looking model! I love it! I may have to get this one.

The St. Louis Fire Department had a mid-1960's Mack C heavy rescue very similar to this one, designated as Squad 1, in front line service until 1981, when it was replaced by a Mack CF rescue.

Re: Mack C Rescue

Correction: St. Louis' Squad 2 was the Mack C. Squad 1 was a mid-1960's Seagrave. Both had Gerstenslager bodies, though.

I really like that Corgi Mack C rescue. And the price is right as well!

Re: Mack C Rescue

Or Signature, whoever makes it. Isn't it the same as Corgi?

Anybody know a release date for this rescue???

Re: Mack C Rescue

Croton-on-Hudson Fire Department in Westchester County ran a Mack C Rescue which looked very much like the prototype on the Westchester Collectibles web site. It ran as Rescue 18 of the Croton Fire Patrol Co. 1.

The model in the photo on Westchester Collectibles web site and the price would seem to indicate it will be made by Signature Models. and NO, Signature and Corgi are not the same. Two different companies. Also, don't confuse Signature Models with the Signature Series by Yat Ming. Also not the same companies.

Re: Mack C Rescue

Regardless, nice quality model with a nice price!

Re: Mack C Rescue

Here's a link to the actual rig:

It served the West Hempstead FD on Long Island.

The roof lights aren't accurate to the picture, but it they may have been redone sometime during the life of the rig.

Nice job on the model and a definite keeper for my collection.

Re: Mack C Rescue

Looking at the model picture, I would say that they kept the same light/horn/siren configuration as on the Mack C pumpers. This could just be the pre production sample and the finished model might have the lights configured as on the actual rig. Not that big of a deal to me.

Re: Mack C Rescue

The twin to this on Long Island was either in Massapequa and North Massapequa...I'll have to check my photo data base, but one of these two Fire Departments had the exact same twin to West Hempstead.
