Actually, I DROVE it back from the dealer (one of my favourite hobby shops). It sat on the seat of the car, I drove the car, ergo, I drove it back...never mind!
I hadn't seen a post saying these neat little tilt-cabbers had arrived, and indeed they have!
I never cease to be amazed at Athearn's detail on 1/87th scale models, and this one definitely holds up the standard.
One thing that IS different, at least on my all-red version: The ground ladder set on the right hand side is apparently left unpainted, and appears in a funny kind of off-white/beige shade.
That said, another GREAT little model. Speaking of little, it's also out in N-scale.
John, I have the chrome yellow Ford C Shorty (Fire Prot. Dist.) and the ladder is painted silver.
Yes, these are very nice models! Athearn's attention to detail is second to none and I can't wait to see what new fire model(s) they announce next year. Hopefully it'll be a Mack R pumper.
