Any word on whether we'll see more FG Clinton, MD replicas?

Spent some time recently really looking at their last release sitting on my shelf. I forget how detailed that rig really is. I know at the time there was talk about the Clinton, MD FD having more of their rigs reproduced. Anyone know if they are planning to release another rig anytime soon?

Re: Any word on whether we'll see more FG Clinton, MD replicas?

I'm curious as to how many Clinton Fire sold so far. I have both the Kenworth and the Mack, and guests who see them always comment on how striking the two look.

I'm hoping sometime in the future they consider getting First Gear to do a Ford C Engine.

Re: Any word on whether we'll see more FG Clinton, MD replicas?

I spoke to a Clinton VFD person last year at the Maryland State Firemen's Convention. He was there with the 1/1 engine selling the models. He told me they had more than plenty left. He hinted that it might of been a financial mistake producing this model. He also said no other models (C-Ford) would be produced by Clinton in the near future.

That's a shame. I was really hoping that FG and Clinton VFD would do the open cab C model Ford. Maybe FG would still do one. There were many that they could replicate from that one mold.

They were going to the "C" and one other. The "C" Ford is a great lQQking engine. They were one or two in Loudon Co. and Winchester. Va.

A correction (verified) about your info; there were TWO from Clinton, MD ('62 and '67), two from FAIRFAX County ('68 Herndon and '65 Navy-Vale) and one from CLARKE County ('67 Sarah-Zane Fire Company, Winchester, VA). There were never any open-cab Ford C/Young pumpers from Loudoun County. The only other open cab Ford C's built by Young for were for Ridge-Culver, NY.

Sarge619: You are correct. I thought the Hamilton "C" was an open cab. All good lQQking engines!

You are so right, Steve! I really love those Ford C/Youngs. The first piece of apparatus I fell in love with was Herndon Co. 4's piece. It was new at the time (it reverted to the County when Co. 4 turned over operations in '77, got repainted in County white/red, then was sold to the Dominican Republic with other surplus County apparatus in the early 80's. It's the only Virginia Ford C/Young open cab currently unaccounted for. I hope it's not rusting in a field in the DR).

My grandfather and two uncles were vollies @ Co. 4. The uncles later went on the become career FF's for the county, now both retired. One of them is the owner of Roto-Ray, having bought the patents many moons ago. He still builds each and every one himself (with occasional help from his brother and son who is a current FFX County Lieutenant).

Sarge619: I believe I have a picture of the Sarah-Zane Fire Company "C" in the '82 Winchester parade. I'll look for it.
