While Auggie is sharing his Christmas story in SMOKE, there is a fellow diner in the background, drinking coffee, smoking, apparently soaking things in. Is that Paul Auster?

I know he's the guy in the 4x4 at the end of the Music of Chance - not sure about Smoke though.

Will have to watch again!

The guy in the cafe isn't Auster - I know why you'd think that though, because I remember when I watched it, it did seem as if the character in the background had been 'placed' in the shot - sort of artificially.
