I am interested in Auster's connections to Brooklyn and southeastern Vermont. I was born and raised in Brooklyn (still the site of my soul) and have a home in Brattleboro, VT, the locations for Follies. Brattleboro is home to many, many writers as well as an annual literary festival. Brooklyn, of course, has been home to writers for over a century. Auster comes from Newark--why Brookly and Brattleboro (or, more broadly, Windham County, VT)?
