As a parent of an Autistic adult who functions like a 5 year old I wonder how can I guide him and show him appropriate skills without making him feel like a child.

I think Tanya you are doing a great job so far even though you may think that you are not doing enough. Your DS is smart and most of all knows that you love him and that you are doing all that you can for him.
