korean vet info

Hello, and God bless all who have served. My name is Brian, and I'm trying to do now what I should have done 10 years ago (at least). I'm trying to locate any veteran who may have served with my father in the korean war. His name was Charles (Chuck) Leroy McElwee and he passed away in 1980, leaving me virtually no information about his service history. This is what he did share. He served in both the 82nd and 101st, although the 101st wasn't activated in korea,so i guess he would have been in 82nd for that time period. He was born in 1929 or 1930,was about 5'7", 155-160 lbs.,liked to drink, liked women, and claimed to have done r&r in Japan after having been wounded in action.Sound like most vets? Sorry, it's all I have to go on.Veteran's affairs is trying to help me, but it's a slow and frustrating process! i would appreciate any help any of you could give me.
Thank you,
BRIAN mCeLWEE
