Re: Researching surnames from the Skibbereen area in southwest Co Cork
I am searching for my great grandmother, Catherine Harrington Sullivan. She was born in 1840's or 50's. She emigrated to US and settled in Fall River where she had 4 children, James, Mary, Catherine, Margaret (Maggie Jane). The census for 1910 says she had 8 children but 4 lived. She was married to Patrick U Sullivan. She died at 56 and he died before her. I am looking for her roots in Ireland. I'm not sure what her father's name was but it might have been James.
Going to Ireland and would like to visit where she was from while I'm there.
If you know anything about the Harrington's or Sullivan's you can email me at kk124@aol.com.
Thanks,
Kathy

Hello:
I am researching O'Regan/Regan and Sullivan /O'Sullivan in Schull East. I have found a birth registry record and marriage record. My two times great-grandparents are Denis Sullivan and Eliza O'Regan. They came to American in 1848 and returned to Ireland from 1857-1867. Their three younger children were born in Ireland, the last one, in 1864, at the start of the birth registry requirement. Would appreciated any other info on you may have. Thanks.

Hi Barbara
I am researching my gggrandparents Denis McCarthy (1775) and his wife Johanna Dillon (1783) who came to Canada in 1825. They are listed as being from Michelstown, Brigown Parish, Cork but no history can be found. Their children were Mary, Owen, Patrick, John, William (my ggrandfather), Johanna and Ellen. I would love to know if this family sounds familiar. Thank-you. Some of Patrick's descendents moved to Michigan and Oregon. Maureen.
