Tobin-Delaney-Delancy?

My grandfather William Tobin's Obit-1935 LI,NY lists a sister Mrs. Michael Delaney-of Ireland, as survivor It's hard to read. it says his age as 46 or 48.
His entry papers say DOB 1881, Tipperary Ireland Says he came over 1906.Cannot find him on any ships for this date within 4 yrs.
Grandmothers papers say's her husband was born 1882 Cashel
1930 census says he's 50 yrs old. Searching I'm being pulled down towards Bansha, or he could have been born in N. Tipperary? A Wm J Tobin was born in SW Tipperary county 1875 and baptized in Cork Co. How often could this happen?
Family folklore is most of his family moved to Australia, and he was to meet up with some family in NY but could never find them, they may have moved.
Anyone have a Tobin Delaney connection? Could be Delancy, or Deheney. I apologize for not knowing his age! :) Sounds fishey to me, either way looking for info.
