I am looking for information on "where" High Mount, County Cork is and the best way to get there, if visiting. Am trying to track down ancestry of Alexander Hobert/Hobart b. 1779 who supposedly fought for the English in the War of 1812 against the US, but can't find any record of his military record. He married Mary Jane GIlmore in abt 1816 and then left for Canada, and eventually came to Rock Island, IL. Only know "County Cork" so am trying to track down all elements of the Hobart family in Cork.
