My mother's eight "greats," all from Ireland and all Catholic, included JOHN DONEGAN (b. circa 1815, d. Haverstraw, NY 1854), his wife MARY FARRELL DONEGAN BANNON (b. ca. 1820, d. Haverstraw 1894, both possibly from Westmeath); JOHN GREELEY (GRALY), b. ca. 1830; d. Yonkers, NY, 1892); his wife ANN WHELAN (b. ca. 1830, d. Yonkers 1868); PATRICK MURPHY & wife ANN LARKIN b. ca. 1830 Ireland; d. Haverstraw NY area dates unknown, and JULIA LEHAN CHINNERY, d. Yonkers NY ca. 1876; her husband JOHN CHINNERY had d. in Wales ca. 1859. Julia and John were both from County Cork, unknown birth dates but married Sept. 15, 1849.
Greeley, Whelan, Murphy & Larkin: areas of origin in Ireland unknown.John Greeley's parents Thomas and Bridget Cannon Greeley also emigrated to NY from Ireland.
Can anyone help with any of these? My father's four grandparents also originated in Ireland, but I've tracked those!
