This couple had 5 (known) children (Mary, William, James, Samuel & Thomas), all born in Antrim, Ireland, however the birthplace of their son named William, born 1835, is questionable. Some Scottish census records indicate he was born in either Ireland, Paisley, Renfrewshire, Scotland or Lanarkshire, Scotland.

William married Janet Forsyth in 1860 in Stirlingshire, Scotland (she was born in Scotland).
