I am looking for leads to help me find my Gg grand father, Edward Morton. he had a son Johnston Morton, born in Longford 1925. Johnston ended up in Liverpool after marrying Clarinda Gellatley in Clonmel in 1845, with whom he one son, George, born on Birkenhead area in 1861, he then had a child arthur by another woman, Clara and another child who was my grandfather, Richard morton with another woman, my g grandmother Ellen.
Bit stumped as on Ellen and Johnstone marriage cert his father was named as Edward Morton, sergeant in Irish Constabulary, yet I can only find a record of Sergeant Edward Morgan in a muster roll for 1832. any help would be appreciated. all other lines have been traced back to mid 17C but I am on stop with this one
