MAGUIRE, PATTERSON, OWENS, BRANDON

Thomas MAGUIRE b. 1782, probably Co.Fermanagh, d. 30 March 1867, Toronto Canada married:
Lucy PATTERSON b. 1806, probably co. Fermanagh d. 02 November1875, Toronto, Canada
In the Cornagee Church of Ireland (now the Mullaghdun Parish Church) on 24 November 1820. This was the fifth marriage performed in the then-new church.
Church records show Thomas was from “Derrybyon, Rossorry”, an apparent transcription error. My best guess is Drumlyon, Rossorry.
The record shows Lucy from Cleggan townland near Mullaghdun.
Children: Mary Ann bapt. 01 July 1821, James bapt. 19 June 1825, Margaret Jane bapt. 18 July 1829, and Susan b. 17 June 1841, bapt. 18 July 1841, all in the Cornagee Church. Missing from the record is John, b. ca 1838.
All lived in the Cleggan townland until they emigrated in July 1847 aboard the Superior out of Londonderry, arriving in Quebec 15 September 1847. One William Patterson, age and relationship unknown, travelled on the same ticket, which was likely purchased in nearby Blacklion, Co. Cavan

John I OWENS dates not known, likely resident in Drumcrow.
His first son by his first wife, Thomas (dates not known), was reputedly ordained by John Wesley. I have no dates or names for either first or second wives.
His first son by his second wife, John II b. 1800 likely in Drumcrow, d. 1844 Co Fermanagh, married:
Isabella BRANDON, b. 1800 or 1806 possibly Derryvolan or Derryvullan, d.1888 in Ontario, Canada.
on 02 June 1824 in Pettigo.
Children born in Rosscrennagh and/or Rossharbour: John III, b 18 October 1828, James, b. 01 May 1831, Mat(t)hew Henry, b. 09 March 1834, Elizabeth Jane, b. 12 July 1836, and Eleanor 08 October 1842.
After John II’s death, Isabella remarried a cousin Francis BRANDON, and they emigrated to Canada in 1846 aboard the Unicorn out of Killybegs, Co. Donegal. They settled in Bond Head, Ontario, Canada.

I have a fair bit of information on these families in Canada that I’ll be happy to share.
I’m hoping someone can advance my knowlege of these families in Co. Fermanagh.

Cheers
Carl
