Searching for the Irish roots of my great grandfather, James Archibald, born in Irish "Free State" @1865 and died in Massachusettes in 1907. His father is Charles Archibald and his mother is Jane (maiden name?). James immigrated to Massachusettes around 1881.

I do not know what county in Ireland james is from - only that it's not anywhere in Northern Ireland.

Appreciate any leads anyone can provide.
