I saw your message 18 months after you posted it, and wondered whether you now know any more about the Casses. I am researching the name Cass/Case in Dorset, UK and one of them married an Ann from Tipperary. I think this William Cass was a soldier who married a local girl while on duty in Ireland. They had a child in 1808, (possibly one earlier in 1802, then two more in 1815 and 1818. Have you ever come across a suitable marriage that might be William's?
Is there an established Cass family in Tipperary? If there is a connection, I would be happy to tell you more.
My mother's family was named Cass and they came from Thurles in 1842 via Edward and Brigid. I have the history of that Cass family in Australia if you are interested.
