Buckley Family

I am trying to trace info about my gg grandfather, William Buckley. Census shows he was born in Tipperary in 1835 or 1837. His father's name was Thomas and both he and Thomas were joiners. He married Margaret Tierney in St Augustine's church, Liverpool in 1864. I have found a Thomas Buckley in Fethard in 1856 but he was a nailmaker. Also a Thom,as Buckley in Doon but have no other info to confirm family ties. No trace on LDS or other websites. Possible they could be from Cashel and Emly parish as records not available. Thank you anyone who is able to help orr who tries to help! I am visiting Ireland in 3 weeks and would love to visit their birthplace.

Re: Buckley Family

Jean, I was struck by the similarity of your GGF William Buckley with my GGF William Buckley. Both were born about the same year in Co. Tipperary. My GGF had a brother named Thomas (as well as Michael, John and Philip). Both were married in England in the early 1860's to women name Margaret. However, my GGF married Margaret Scully. My Buckley family came from Killardry civil parish, worked about 10 years in England before emigrating in 1867 to America where the family became coal miners in Luzerne County, PA. If you haven't already done so, I suggest checking Jim Buckley's webite where you can find a lot of baptism, marriage and death data about various Co. Tipperary Buckleys.
